about.

history.

Boom was started in late 2008 as Social Media really began to take over. We started as just a web design company, but quickly learned that our clients wanted us to update their sites for them. All the time. So we did. As facebook released their “pages” and apps along with twitter and others, the need for content was everywhere. We had already been shooting videos for our clients, taking photos, and writing articles and updates. That’s right, we content-focused before being content-focused was cool… Here’s a bit about who we are:

Shaun Hautly

president/catalyst

Shaun started boom in 2008. He’s never met a clock he can’t set. He has a tattoo of boom’s motto: “We’re all in this together.” He has spent the last 2 years trying to bake a decent loaf of bread, and finally figured it out. He hopes there was some life lesson in there, somewhere…

Jon Becker

social media strategist/enzyme

Jon has his degree in New Media and Journalism. He knows more about Social Networks than you would ever even want to know. Jon spends his free time reading Wikipedia pages for topics he is only vaguely interested in and trying to keep up with developments in technology.

Jay Strybis

lead developer

Jay is the best web developer Shaun and Jon have ever met. So they hired him. Jay is the mastermind behind- and lead developer of- ChapterCore, a robust CMS programmed from scratch. Jay plays frisbee and PS3. Find him on twitter @JayWasTaken.

Jon Dittmer

dir. of photography

Jonathan is one of those photographers who “gets it”. He’s shot in several countries and everything from landscapes to products. He makes sure that the world has the best view of our clients doing what they do best. Jon shoots with a harmony of technical expertise and authentic beauty. Email him at photography@boomreactive.com

Robby Pampel

senior wordsmith

Robby has been a part of the boom team for a long time. His english degree and writing experience make him a whiz at conveying information efficiently with words. He writes for us while he pursues his Masters Degree at Webster University.

Amanda Bono

accounting reagent

Amanda handles what the rest of the company considers boring: invoices and contracts. Although everyone admits that without the boring stuff, they wouldn’t get paid. So they don’t mind having her around. She tells really bad jokes and tweets infrequently at @BugBono.

Alan Hautly

voice of reason

Alan is more of a consciousness at boom than an employee. He is a partner, but works at his own company, Hautly Cheese Co., Inc. His main duties including making sure that no one expenses an xBox, even though it may sound like a really good idea.

Jacob Hautly

vice president?

Jacob has some business cards, but no one’s really sure what he does at boom. Everyone agrees he’s pretty smart, but he doesn’t get paid. He’s mostly on this website because it’d be uneven if he weren’t. They’ll replace him with their next hire.
